Analysis of well-known brand - Lush Cosmetics

For research we have been looking at popular brands, we decided to look at the brand Lush.

Lush is a brand that has gained more and more popularity over recent years, selling products ranging from bath bombs to skincare to makeup all of which is cruelty free, because of the large range of different products Lush is such a versatile brand!

































The name....

Although the full name of the brand is Lush Cosmetics, it's more commonly known and referred to as just Lush.
The name itself is easy to remember, with it being one worded, which makes it resonate with the consumer more effectively. Also, it is simple to pronounce and is meaningful in the sense that it the word ‘Lush’ has positive connotations of luxury, which is what this brand promotes. 

Also, the slogan ‘fresh handmade products’ carries meaning, with ‘fresh’ relating to notions of modernity and makes the brand appear trendy - due to 'fresh' also meaning up-to-date.



The use of the word ‘handmade’ is effective in the sense that it makes the brand seem unique and exclusive, as it is catered to the customer specifically as opposed to being factory produced.




The brand is known for 'fighting against animal testing' and being '100% vegetarian' with some products also being vegan, these phrases are seen in the stores, the website and also on their bags (which are all paper)















Overall, the brand ‘Lush’ utilises language cleverly as a way of promoting their brand as well as their corresponding products, in turn and has resulted in the brand's recent gain in popularity!
