Seventeen Cosmetics | Rebrand Research | Company values and mission statements

Recently we were looking into and researching various different company values and today we are going to share with you our own research to help us apply these aspects to our own company YorMedia, our app Inside the Walls and also to Seventeen Cosmetics the brand we are rebranding!

1) YorMedia's mission statement...

Making people’s business better. Seeking to do our best to exceed their expectations and looking forward to achieve everyone’s success. By providing a good work environment for every person working in this company.

2) Does Seventeen Cosmetics have a mission statement?

This one was tricky to find, as the brand is part of the the pharmaceutical company Boots however on Seventeen's facebook page their 'about' section tells us that :

"SEVENTEEN is one of Britain’s best loved cosmetics brands. For killer foundations & primers, mascaras & eyeliners plus all your make up bag essentials!"

3) What apps are similar to our own?

We did a little research on apps similar to our own and the factors that allow them to successful!
tripadvisor...
This app is free and is similar to that of our idea. It mostly has positive 5-Star reviews on the app store for its usefulness for tourists, but was criticised for not having the same features on both the iPad and the iPhone device, which makes it seem less appealing. Also users commented that the app was too slow when loading. However, overall, the reviews for the app interface were positive.

World Explorer...
This app in particular enables users to search for different locations in a specific place, such as ‘Central Park’ in New York City, and find information on the place, which is rather similar to ours. The app itself has received mixed reviews, with several users giving it 5-Stars, again for its usefulness in seeking out information on a certain place, which appeals to the tourist market. However, it has received a couple negative reviews for no listed reason. However, the app does not look as professional as Trip Advisor, which may be the reason why.

4) How could we use appeals to self-interest when designing our app?
YorMedia aims to design an app that makes people’s life easier by providing relevant information, tips, advice and everything a person needs to know every corner of the city!

Save both money and time...

People who tend to travel to various cities frequently tend to want to visit places of interest and experience local culture and they certainly want to do this efficiently thus allowing them to save both money and time!

Inside the Walls is the perfect app for those for just a few days or even months (such as exchange students) because the app provides discounts and offers in some of the most popular places in the city and local people tips and advices as well.

Wanting to be accepted/popular...

‘Inside The Walls’ is a community integrated by local and travel people. Getting this app, automatically you’re going to be part of the community while sharing valuable information and consuming the one that is already there.

Wanting more enjoyment...

While thinking how to make people enjoy the app, we thought about including a quiz game related to relevant information of York.

The want and need of safety and security...
To avoid safety and security issues, we decided a ‘non sign in’ app. So everybody could get the app and surf it without been register.

Thank you for taking the time to read this quite lengthly post!
